The TL;DR
The legal version follows. Here's what actually matters:
- Your photos stay yours. We never sell them, never share them with advertisers, never train AI models on them.
- iOS Phone Cull runs on your device. Your photos never leave your phone for the cleanup step.
- For photo books, we upload only the photos you choose to print, send them to our print partner, and delete them after fulfillment.
- We collect your email when you buy something so we can send order confirmations and shipping updates.
- We use Stripe for payments. We never store your credit card number.
- You can delete everything at any time — in-app, on the web, or by emailing hello@laouts.com.

We make photo book editing software (web and iOS) and tools for organizing your camera roll.
2 · Information We Collect
2.1 Information You Provide
- Email address when you purchase a photo book, creative pack, or Phone Cleanse
- Shipping address only when ordering a printed product
- Phone number (optional) only for shipping delivery notifications
- Photos you upload to create a photo book OR (iOS only) photos you authorize the Phone Cull app to scan
- Payment information collected by Stripe — we never store your card number
- Book content — titles, captions, layout choices you make in the editor
2.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information (device type, OS, browser)
- Usage data (pages visited, features used, errors)
- IP address (kept for 30 days, then anonymized)
- Essential cookies only — no advertising or tracking pixels
2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Facial recognition data is processed but not stored. Face detection runs locally in your browser (web) or on-device (iOS). Coordinates are used to crop photos intelligently, then discarded.
- No GPS or location tracking
- No microphone, live camera, or contacts access
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA)
- No third-party tracking pixels — no Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads conversion tracking
3 · How We Use Your Information

None. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
5 · How We Share Your Information
We use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors"). Each is bound by a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and only handles data necessary for their function:

We will disclose information only: to these processors as needed; when required by law; to protect rights, property, or safety; or with your explicit consent.
6 · Data Retention

7 · Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and all associated data
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent
- Object to processing for legitimate-interests reasons
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@laouts.com. We respond within 30 days.
EU/UK residents (GDPR): lead authority is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
California residents (CCPA): we do not sell your personal information. You have the right to know what we collect, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
8 · Account Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data three ways:
- iOS app: Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Web: laouts.com/account/delete
- Email: Send a deletion request to hello@laouts.com
When you delete your account, we permanently remove your email, contact info, photo book projects not yet printed, Creative Suite entitlements, and Phone Cull purchase records.
We retain order records for shipped physical products (7 years, tax requirement) and anonymized analytics that cannot be linked back to you. Deletion is processed within 30 days.
9 · Children's Privacy
LAOUTS is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a child under 13, contact us at hello@laouts.com and we will delete it.
10 · International Data Transfers
We are based in Canada. Our processors are located in the United States (Stripe, Vercel, Supabase, Prodigi US), United Kingdom (Prodigi UK), European Union (Prodigi EU), and Australia (Prodigi AU). We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards for transfers outside your jurisdiction.
11 · Security
We use industry-standard security measures: TLS encryption in transit, AES-256 encryption at rest, restricted database access, payment data handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1), and regular security reviews.
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting you, we will notify you within 72 hours where required by law.
12 · Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above, notify you by email (if you have an account), post a notice on laouts.com, and for substantial changes require fresh consent.
