We make photo book editing software (web and iOS) and tools for organizing your camera roll.
2 · The TL;DR (Plain English Summary)
Apple requires the legal version below. Here's what actually matters:
- Your photos stay yours. We never sell them, never share them with advertisers, never train AI models on them.
- iOS Phone Cull runs on your device. Your photos never leave your phone for the cleanup step.
- For photo books, we upload only the photos you choose to print, send them to our print partner (Prodigi), and delete them from our servers after fulfillment.
- We collect your email when you buy something so we can send order confirmations and shipping updates.
- We use Stripe for payments. We never store your credit card number.
- You can delete everything at any time — in-app, on the web, or by emailing hello@laouts.com.
3 · Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Provide
- Email address (when you purchase a photo book, creative pack, or Phone Cleanse)
- Shipping address (only when ordering a printed product)
- Phone number (optional, only for shipping delivery notifications)
- Photos you upload to create a photo book OR (iOS only) photos you authorize the Phone Cull app to scan
- Payment information — collected by Stripe, never stored by us
- Book content — titles, captions, layout choices you make in the editor
3.2 Information Collected Automatically
- Device information: device type, operating system, browser
- Usage data: pages visited, features used, errors encountered
- IP address (kept for 30 days for security / fraud prevention, then anonymized)
- Cookies (essential cookies only — see Section 7)
3.3 Information We Do NOT Collect
- Facial recognition data is processed but not stored. Our face-detection runs locally in your browser (web) or on-device (iOS). The coordinates of detected faces are used to crop photos intelligently, then discarded.
- No location tracking. We do not access GPS.
- No microphone, camera (live), or contacts access.
- No advertising identifiers (IDFA). We do not show ads or share data with advertising networks.
- No third-party tracking pixels. No Facebook Pixel, no Google Ads conversion tracking on the editor or order pages.
4 · How We Use Your Information

5 · Apple App Store Privacy Nutrition Label
For our iOS apps, here is exactly what we declare to Apple:

Data Used to Track You
- None. We do not track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.
6 · How We Share Your Information
We use a small number of trusted service providers ("processors"). Each one is bound by a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) and only handles the data necessary for their function:

We do not sell your information. We do not share with advertisers. We do not share with data brokers.
We will disclose information only:
- To these processors as needed to provide the service
- When required by law (court order, subpoena)
- To protect the rights, property, or safety of LAOUTS, our users, or others
- With your explicit consent
7 · Cookies and Tracking
LAOUTS uses essential cookies only — for session management, preventing CSRF attacks, and remembering your preferences. We do not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party analytics that profile you.
The iOS app uses no third-party tracking SDKs. There is no Facebook SDK, no Google Analytics for Firebase, no AppsFlyer, no Adjust.

9 · Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate information
- Delete your account and all associated data (see Section 10)
- Export your data in a portable format
- Withdraw consent for any processing based on consent
- Object to processing for legitimate-interests reasons
- Lodge a complaint with a data protection authority
To exercise any of these rights, email hello@laouts.com. We respond within 30 days.
EU/UK residents (GDPR): lead authority is the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, since we are based in Canada. You may also contact your local data protection authority.
California residents (CCPA): we do not sell your personal information. You have the right to know what we collect, request deletion, and not be discriminated against for exercising your rights.
10 · Account Deletion
You can delete your account and all associated data three ways:
- iOS app: Settings → Account → Delete Account
- Web: https://laouts.com/account/delete
- Email: Send a deletion request to hello@laouts.com
When you delete your account, we permanently remove:
- Your email and contact info
- Your photo book projects (any not yet printed)
- Your Creative Suite entitlements
- Your Phone Cull purchase records
We retain:
- Order records for shipped physical products (7 years, tax requirement)
- Anonymized analytics that cannot be linked back to you
Deletion is processed within 30 days.
11 · Children's Privacy
You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or place an order with LAOUTS. The Service is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have inadvertently collected data from a minor, contact us at hello@laouts.com and we will delete it. Because users may upload photos that include children, you are responsible for having the rights and any parental/guardian consent for those images.
12 · International Data Transfers
We are based in Canada. Our processors are located in:
- United States (Stripe, Vercel, Supabase, Recraft, Prodigi US fulfillment)
- United Kingdom (Prodigi UK fulfillment)
- European Union (Prodigi EU fulfillment)
- Australia (Prodigi AU fulfillment)
We rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards for transfers outside your jurisdiction.
13 · Provenance metadata in downloaded assets
When you purchase or download LAOUTS-owned artwork (stickers, backgrounds, printable sheets, AI-generated exports), we may embed invisible metadata in the file (IPTC/XMP fields) that identifies:
- LAOUTS / 4488652 Canada Inc. as the source
- A license notice pointing to our Terms
- A traceability token linking the file to your order (using a salted one-way hash of your account ID — not your email, name, or address)
We maintain a server-side provenance ledger (asset ID, order ID, user hash, timestamp, file fingerprint) so we can match a file found elsewhere back to the originating order, for Terms enforcement — not for resale of your personal photos.
Preview images shown before purchase may include a visible LAOUTS watermark. Paid full-resolution downloads are delivered without that visible watermark.
Metadata can be removed by re-saving or editing in third-party tools; a determined reseller may strip it. We may add stronger provenance layers (e.g. C2PA content credentials) over time.
14 · Security
We use industry-standard security measures:
- TLS encryption in transit
- AES-256 encryption at rest
- Database access restricted to authorized personnel only
- Payment card data handled exclusively by Stripe (PCI-DSS Level 1)
- Regular security reviews
No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach affecting you, we will notify you within 72 hours where required by law.
15 · Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve. When we make material changes, we will:
- Update the "Last Updated" date above
- Notify you by email (if you have an account)
- Post a notice on laouts.com
- For substantial changes, require fresh consent
